How to wash headcovers and golf towels without ruining them

Knit covers, neoprene iron socks, and waffle towels each need different care if you want them to last a season.

Sweat, sunscreen, and Bermuda grass stain accessories faster than people expect. A little care keeps logos from cracking and knit from felting into a felt blob.

Knit headcovers

Hand wash cold, press in a towel, reshape, and air dry. Do not tumble dry. Leather tags can take a dab of conditioner once a season.

Towels

Waffle microfiber can go in a cold machine wash without fabric softener (softener kills absorbency). Skip bleach. Zip the carabiner off first so it does not beat the drum.
